DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 267/2024

of 6 December 2024

amending Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the EEA Agreement [2025/546]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,
Whereas:
(1) Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/1958 of 23 June 2021 supplementing Regulation (EU) 2019/2144 of the European Parliament and of the Council by laying down detailed rules concerning the specific test procedures and technical requirements for the type-approval of motor vehicles with regard to their intelligent speed assistance systems and for the type-approval of those systems as separate technical units and amending Annex II to that Regulation  ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.
(2) Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/1675 of 26 June 2023 correcting certain language versions of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/1958 supplementing Regulation (EU) 2019/2144 of the European Parliament and of the Council by laying down detailed rules concerning the specific test procedures and technical requirements for the type-approval of motor vehicles with regard to their intelligent speed assistance systems and for the type-approval of those systems as separate technical units  ( 2 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.
(3) Annex II to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Chapter I of Annex II to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:
1.
The following indent is added in point 52 (Regulation (EU) 2019/2144 of the European Parliament and of the Council):
‘—
32021 R 1958 : Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/1958 of 23 June 2021 ( OJ L 409, 17.11.2021, p. 1 ).’
2.
The following is inserted after point 52e (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/1426):
‘52f.
32021 R 1958 : Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/1958 of 23 June 2021 supplementing Regulation (EU) 2019/2144 of the European Parliament and of the Council by laying down detailed rules concerning the specific test procedures and technical requirements for the type-approval of motor vehicles with regard to their intelligent speed assistance systems and for the type-approval of those systems as separate technical units and amending Annex II to that Regulation ( OJ L 409, 17.11.2021, p. 1 ), as amended by:
— 32023 R 1675 : Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/1675 of 26 June 2023 ( OJ L 216, 1.9.2023, p. 9 ).
The provisions of the Regulation shall, for the purposes of the EEA Agreement, be read with the following adaptations:
The following shall be added to Part 5 of Annex II:

Article 2

The texts of Delegated Regulations (EU) 2021/1958 and (EU) 2023/1675 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 7 December 2024, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made  ( *1 ) .

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
