DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 257/2024

of 6 December 2024

amending Annex I (Veterinary and phytosanitary matters) to the EEA Agreement [2025/617]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1743 of 21 June 2024 concerning the authorisation of a preparation of endo-1,4-beta-mannanase produced with Thermothelomyces thermophilus DSM 33149 as a feed additive for all poultry species for fattening and ornamental birds (holder of authorisation: BASF SE) ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1750 of 24 June 2024 concerning the renewal of the authorisation of a preparation of Levilactobacillus brevis DSM 23231 as a feed additive for all animal species and amending Implementing Regulation (EU) No 399/2014 ( 2 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(3) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1755 of 25 June 2024 concerning the authorisation of acetic acid, calcium acetate and sodium diacetate as feed additives for fish ( 3 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(4) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1757 of 25 June 2024 concerning the renewal of the authorisation of a preparation of Lentilactobacillus buchneri NCIMB 30139 as a feed additive for all animal species and amending Implementing Regulation (EU) No 96/2013 ( 4 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(5) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1786 of 27 June 2024 concerning the renewal of the authorisation of a preparation of ammonium chloride as a feed additive for ruminants, cats and dogs (holder of the authorisation: BASF SE) and repealing Implementing Regulation (EU) No 725/2013 ( 5 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(6) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1810 of 1 July 2024 concerning the renewal of the authorisation of a preparation of Lentilactobacillus buchneri DSM 22501 as a feed additive for all animal species and amending Implementing Regulation (EU) No 1113/2013 ( 6 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(7) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1839 of 3 July 2024 correcting Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/2846 by deleting Schinopsis lorentzii (Griseb.) Engl. as a source of the feed additive red quebracho extract ( 7 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(8) Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1786 repeals Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 725/2013 ( 8 ) , which is incorporated into the EEA Agreement and which is consequently to be repealed under the EEA Agreement.

(9) This Decision concerns legislation regarding feedingstuffs. Legislation regarding feedingstuffs shall not apply to Liechtenstein as long as the application of the Agreement between the European Community and the Swiss Confederation on trade in agricultural products is extended to Liechtenstein, as specified in the sectoral adaptations to Annex I to the EEA Agreement. This Decision is therefore not to apply to Liechtenstein.

(10) Annex I to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Chapter II of Annex I to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

The following points are inserted after point 598 (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1730):

32024 R 1810 : Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1810 of 1 July 2024 concerning the renewal of the authorisation of a preparation of Lentilactobacillus buchneri DSM 22501 as a feed additive for all animal species and amending Implementing Regulation (EU) No 1113/2013 ( OJ L, 2024/1810, 2.7.2024 ).’

The following indent is added in point 2zzm (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 1113/2013):

The following is added in point 2zzzc (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 399/2014):

The following is added in point 76 (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 96/2013):

— 32024 R 1757 : Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1757 of 25 June 2024 ( OJ L, 2024/1757, 26.6.2024 ).’

The text of point 93 (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 725/2013) is replaced by the following:

‘ 32024 R 1786 : Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1786 of 27 June 2024 concerning the renewal of the authorisation of a preparation of ammonium chloride as a feed additive for ruminants, cats and dogs (holder of the authorisation: BASF SE) and repealing Implementing Regulation (EU) No 725/2013 ( OJ L, 2024/1786, 28.6.2024 ).’

The following is added in point 542 (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/2846):

‘, as amended by:

— 32024 R 1839 : Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1839 of 3 July 2024 ( OJ L, 2024/1839, 4.7.2024 ).’

Article 2

The texts of Implementing Regulations (EU) 2024/1743, (EU) 2024/1750, (EU) 2024/1755, (EU) 2024/1757, (EU) 2024/1786, (EU) 2024/1810 and (EU) 2024/1839 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 7 December 2024, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made ( *1 ) .

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
