DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 259/2024

amending Annex I (Veterinary and phytosanitary matters) to the EEA Agreement [2025/577]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2039 of 29 July 2024 correcting Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/1173 by deleting feed additives from the Annex thereto ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2040 of 29 July 2024 amending Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1070 as regards the establishment of transitional measures for the renewal of the authorisation of a preparation of 25-hydroxycholecalciferol produced by Saccharomyces cerevisiae CBS 146008 ( 2 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(3) This Decision concerns legislation regarding feedingstuffs. Legislation regarding feedingstuffs shall not apply to Liechtenstein as long as the application of the Agreement between the European Community and the Swiss Confederation on trade in agricultural products is extended to Liechtenstein, as specified in the sectoral adaptations to Annex I to the EEA Agreement. This Decision is therefore not to apply to Liechtenstein.

(4) Annex I to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Chapter II of Annex I to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

The following is added in point 504 (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/1173):

‘, as amended by:

— 32024 R 2039 : Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2039 of 29 July 2024 ( OJ L, 2024/2039, 30.7.2024 ).’

2. The following is added in point 578 (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1070):

‘, as amended by:

— 32024 R 2040 : Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2040 of 29 July 2024 ( OJ L, 2024/2040, 30.7.2024 ).’

Article 2

The texts of Implementing Regulations (EU) 2024/2039 and (EU) 2024/2040 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 7 December 2024, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made ( *1 ) .

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
