DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 190/2024

amending Annex I (Veterinary and phytosanitary matters) to the EEA Agreement [2024/3069]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1068 of 12 April 2024 concerning the authorisation of a preparation of rosemary extract as a feed additive for cats and dogs ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1070 of 12 April 2024 concerning the renewal of the authorisation of a preparation of 25-hydroxycholecalciferol produced by Saccharomyces cerevisiae CBS 146008 for chickens for fattening, turkeys for fattening, other poultry and pigs and the authorisation of that preparation for ruminants and repealing Commission Regulation (EC) No 887/2009 ( 2 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(3) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1104 of 17 April 2024 concerning the authorisation of a preparation of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum DSM 11520 as a feed additive for horses, dogs, cats and rabbits ( 3 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(4) Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1070 repeals Commission Regulation (EC) No 887/2009 ( 4 ) , which is incorporated into the EEA Agreement and which is consequently to be repealed under the EEA Agreement.

(5) This Decision concerns legislation regarding feedingstuffs. Legislation regarding feedingstuffs shall not apply to Liechtenstein as long as the application of the Agreement between the European Community and the Swiss Confederation on trade in agricultural products is extended to Liechtenstein, as specified in the sectoral adaptations to Annex I to the EEA Agreement. This Decision is therefore not to apply to Liechtenstein.

(6) Annex I to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Chapter II of Annex I to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

The text of point 1zzzzzi (Commission Regulation (EC) No 887/2009) and the first indent (Commission Regulation (EC) No 887/2009) in point 1zzy (Commission Regulation (EC) No 1443/2006) are deleted.

Article 2

The texts of Implementing Regulations (EU) 2024/1068, (EU) 2024/1070 and (EU) 2024/1104 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 24 September 2024, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made ( *1 ) .

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
