DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 176/2024

amending Annex XX (Environment) to the EEA Agreement [2024/2539]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2023/1623 of 3 August 2023 specifying the values relating to the performance of manufacturers and pools of manufacturers of new passenger cars and new light commercial vehicles for the calendar year 2021 and the values to be used for the calculation of the specific emission targets from 2025 onwards, pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2019/631 of the European Parliament and of the Council and correcting Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/2087 ( 1 ) , as corrected by OJ L 209, 24.8.2023, p. 9 , is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2) Annex XX to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Annex XX to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

The following is added in point 21azn (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/2087):

‘, as amended by:

— 32023 D 1623 : Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2023/1623 of 3 August 2023 ( OJ L 200, 10.8.2023, p. 5 ), as corrected by OJ L 209, 24.8.2023, p. 9 .’

The following point is inserted after point 21azn (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/2087):

‘21azo.

32023 D 1623 : Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2023/1623 of 3 August 2023 specifying the values relating to the performance of manufacturers and pools of manufacturers of new passenger cars and new light commercial vehicles for the calendar year 2021 and the values to be used for the calculation of the specific emission targets from 2025 onwards, pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2019/631 of the European Parliament and of the Council and correcting Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/2087 ( OJ L 200, 10.8.2023, p. 5 ), as corrected by OJ L 209, 24.8.2023, p. 9 .’

Article 2

The text of Implementing Decision (EU) 2023/1623, as corrected by OJ L 209, 24.8.2023, p. 9 , in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 6 July 2024, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made ( *1 ) .

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
