COMMISSION IMPLEMENTING REGULATION (EU) 2024/2155

approving Union amendments to the specification for the protected designation of origin ‘Grignolino del Monferrato Casalese’

THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION,

Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,

Having regard to Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 December 2013 establishing a common organisation of the markets in agricultural products and repealing Council Regulations (EEC) No 922/72, (EEC) No 234/79, (EC) No 1037/2001 and (EC) No 1234/2007 (1), and in particular Article 99(1) thereof,

Whereas:

(1) In accordance with Article 90(1) and (2) of Regulation (EU) 2024/1143 of the European Parliament and of the Council (2), which deleted, among others, Articles 96 to 99 and Article 105 of Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013, those Articles remain applicable to the applications for approval of a Union amendment of the product specification of geographical indications received by the Commission and published in the

Official Journal of the European Union

before 13 May 2024.

(2) The Commission has examined the application for the approval of Union amendments to the product specification for the protected designation of origin ‘Grignolino del Monferrato Casalese’, forwarded by Italy in accordance with Article 97(2) of Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013 in conjunction with Article 105(3), first subparagraph, of that Regulation.

(3) The Commission has published the application for the approval of the Union amendments to the product specification in the

Official Journal of the European Union

(3), as required by Article 97(4) of Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013 in conjunction with Article 105(3), first subparagraph, of that Regulation.

(4) No reasoned statement of objection has been received by the Commission under Article 98 of Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013.

(5) In accordance with Article 99(1) of Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013, as amended by Regulation (EU) 2021/2117 of the European Parliament and of the Council (4), the examination procedure referred to in Article 229(2) of Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013 does not apply to decisions concerning applications for approval of a Union amendment of the product specification of geographical indications received by the Commission after 7 December 2021, for which the Commission has not received an admissible reasoned statement of objection,

HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION:

Article 1

The Union amendments to the product specification published in the

Official Journal of the European Union

regarding the name ‘Grignolino del Monferrato Casalese’ (PDO) are hereby approved.

Article 2

This Regulation shall enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the

Official Journal of the European Union

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States.
