COUNCIL DECISION

appointing two alternates to the Administrative Board of the European Union Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,

Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,

Having regard to Regulation (EU) 2019/942 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 June 2019 establishing a European Union Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (1), and in particular Article 18 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Regulation (EU) 2019/942 provides that the Council is to appoint five members and their alternates to the Administrative Board of the European Union Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (‘the Administrative Board’).

(2) Regulation (EU) 2019/942 provides that a member of the Administrative Board is not to be a member of the Board of Regulators of the European Union Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators and that the members of the Administrative Board are to act independently and objectively in the interest of the Union as a whole.

(3) On 24 January 2022, the Council adopted a Decision (2) appointing two members and three alternates to the Administrative Board for a period of four years from 28 January 2022. On 31 January and 8 February 2024 respectively, two of those alternates, Mr Péter KADERJÁK and Ms Ksenia LUDWINIAK, communicated their resignation as alternates of the Administrative Board.

(4) The Council should appoint two alternates to replace them for the remainder of their current term of office,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

The following persons are hereby appointed as alternates to the Administrative Board with a mandate ending on 28 January 2026:

— Mr Jean-Laurent LASTELLE, France,

— Mr Wouter RAAB, Netherlands.

Article 2

This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its adoption.
