COMMISSION IMPLEMENTING REGULATION (EU) 2021/1303

cancelling the protection of the designation of origin [Neusiedlersee-Hügelland (PDO)]

THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION,

Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,

Having regard to Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 December 2013 establishing a common organisation of the markets in agricultural products and repealing Council Regulations (EEC) No 922/72, (EEC) No 234/79, (EC) No 1037/2001 and (EC) No 1234/2007 (1), and in particular Article 106 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Article 19 of Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/33 (2) provides that the procedure laid down in Article 94 and Articles 96 to 99 of Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013 shall apply

mutatis mutandis

to the cancellation of a protected designation of origin under Article 106 of Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013.

(2) Pursuant to Article 19 of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/33, Austria’s request to cancel the protected designation of origin ‘Neusiedlersee-Hügelland’ was published in the

Official Journal of the European Union

(3).

(3) As no statement of objection under Article 98 of Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013 has been received by the Commission, the protected designation of origin ‘Neusiedlersee-Hügelland’ should be cancelled.

(4) In view of the cancellation of the protection of the designation of origin ‘Neusiedlersee-Hügelland’, the entry should be deleted from the Union register of protected designations of origin and protected geographical indications for wine referred to in Article 104 of Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013.

(5) The measures provided for in this Regulation are in accordance with the opinion of the Committee for the Common Organisation of Agricultural Markets,

HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION:

Article 1

The protection of the designation of origin ‘Neusiedlersee-Hügelland’ (PDO) is hereby cancelled.

Article 2

The entry for the designation of origin ‘Neusiedlersee-Hügelland’ (PDO) is hereby deleted from the register of protected designations of origin and protected geographical indications for wine.

Article 3

This Regulation shall enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the

Official Journal of the European Union

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States.
