DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 130/2020

amending Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) and Annex IV (Energy) to the EEA Agreement [2023/1389]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/1782 of 1 October 2019 laying down ecodesign requirements for external power supplies pursuant to Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council and repealing Commission Regulation (EC) No 278/2009 ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2) Regulation (EU) 2019/1782 repeals, with effect from 1 April 2020, Commission Regulation (EC) No 278/2009 ( 2 ) , which is incorporated into the EEA Agreement and which is consequently to be repealed under the EEA Agreement.

(3) Annexes II and IV to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Chapter IV of Annex II to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

The following point is inserted after point 6s (Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/1781):

‘6t.

32019 R 1782 : Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/1782 of 1 October 2019 laying down ecodesign requirements for external power supplies pursuant to Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council and repealing Commission Regulation (EC) No 278/2009 ( OJ L 272, 25.10.2019, p. 95 ).’

The text of point 12 (Commission Regulation (EC) No 278/2009) is deleted.

Article 2

Annex IV to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

The following point is inserted after point 26t (Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/1781):

‘26u.

The text of point 35 (Commission Regulation (EC) No 278/2009) is deleted.

Article 3

The text of Regulation (EU) 2019/1782 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 4

This Decision shall enter into force on 26 September 2020, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made ( *1 ) .

Article 5

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
