DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 142/2020

of 25 September 2020

amending Annex XX (Environment) to the EEA Agreement [2023/1400]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,
Whereas:
(1) Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/313 of 21 February 2019 on the approval of the technology used in SEG Automotive Germany GmbH High efficient 48V motor generator (BRM) plus 48V/12V DC/DC converter for use in conventional combustion engine and certain hybrid powered light commercial vehicles as an innovative technology for reducing CO 2  emissions from light commercial vehicles pursuant to Regulation (EU) No 510/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council  ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.
(2) Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/314 of 21 February 2019 on the approval of the technology used in SEG Automotive Germany GmbH High efficient 48V motor generator (BRM) plus 48V/12V DC/DC converter for use in conventional combustion engine and certain hybrid powered passenger cars as an innovative technology for reducing CO 2 emissions from passenger cars pursuant to Regulation (EC) No 443/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council  ( 2 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.
(3) Annex XX to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Annex XX to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:
1.
The following point is inserted after point 21aezd (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/1119):
‘21aeze.
32019 D 0314 : Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/314 of 21 February 2019 on the approval of the technology used in SEG Automotive Germany GmbH High efficient 48V motor generator (BRM) plus 48V/12V DC/DC converter for use in conventional combustion engine and certain hybrid powered passenger cars as an innovative technology for reducing CO2 emissions from passenger cars pursuant to Regulation (EC) No 443/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( OJ L 51, 22.2.2019, p. 42 ).’

The following point is inserted after point 21aye (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/1876):
‘21ayf.
32019 D 0313 : Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/313 of 21 February 2019 on the approval of the technology used in SEG Automotive Germany GmbH High efficient 48V motor generator (BRM) plus 48V/12V DC/DC converter for use in conventional combustion engine and certain hybrid powered light commercial vehicles as an innovative technology for reducing CO2 emissions from light commercial vehicles pursuant to Regulation (EU) No 510/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( OJ L 51, 22.2.2019, p. 31 ).’

Article 2

The texts of Implementing Decisions (EU) 2019/313 and (EU) 2019/314 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 26 September 2020, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made  ( *1 ) .

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
