DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 143/2023

amending Annex XIII (Transport) to the EEA Agreement [2023/2404]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (‘the EEA Agreement’), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/851 of 22 March 2022 correcting the Portuguese language version of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/945 on unmanned aircraft systems and on third-country operators of unmanned aircraft systems ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/844 of 30 May 2022 correcting the Swedish language version of Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011 laying down technical requirements and administrative procedures related to civil aviation aircrew pursuant to Regulation (EC) No 216/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( 2 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(3) Annex XIII to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Annex XIII to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

The following indent is added in point 66ne (Commission Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011):

‘—

32022 R 0844 : Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/844 of 30 May 2022 ( OJ L 148, 31.5.2022, p. 24 ).’

The following indent is added in point 66zbb (Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/945):

‘—

32022 R 0851 : Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/851 of 22 March 2022 ( OJ L 150, 1.6.2022, p. 21 ).’

Article 2

The texts of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/851 and Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/844 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 29 April 2023, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made ( *1 ) , or on the day of the entry into force of Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 115/2023 of 28 April 2023 ( 3 ) , whichever is the later.

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
