DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 57/2021

amending Annex XI (Electronic communication, audiovisual services and information society) to the EEA Agreement [2024/41]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2020/590 of 24 April 2020 amending Decision (EU) 2019/784 as regards an update of relevant technical conditions applicable to the 24,25-27,5 GHz frequency band ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2) Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2020/667 of 6 May 2020 amending Decision 2012/688/EU as regards an update of relevant technical conditions applicable to the frequency bands 1 920-1 980 MHz and 2 110-2 170 MHz ( 2 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(3) Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2020/636 of 8 May 2020 amending Decision 2008/477/EC as regards an update of relevant technical conditions applicable to the 2 500–2 690 MHz frequency band ( 3 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(4) Annex XI to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Annex XI to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

The following is added in point 5cze (Commission Decision 2008/477/EC):

‘, as amended by:

— 32020 D 0636 : Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2020/636 of 8 May 2020 ( OJ L 149, 12.5.2020, p. 3 ).’

The following is added in point 5czi (Commission Implementing Decision 2012/688/EU):

‘, as amended by:

— 32020 D 0667 : Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2020/667 of 6 May 2020 ( OJ L 156, 19.5.2020, p. 6 ).’

The following is added in point 5czp (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/784):

‘, as amended by:

— 32020 D 0590 : Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2020/590 of 24 April 2020 ( OJ L 138, 30.4.2020, p. 19 ).’

Article 2

The texts of Implementing Decisions (EU) 2020/590, (EU) 2020/636 and (EU) 2020/667 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 6 February 2021, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made ( *1 ) .

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
