DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 179/2021

amending Annex XX (Environment) to the EEA Agreement [2024/172]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2020/1714 of 16 November 2020 amending Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/1119 as regards the testing methodology for certain not-off vehicle charging hybrid electric passenger cars and to take into account the use of alternative fuels and Implementing Decision (EU) 2020/1339 as regards rear position lamps ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2) Annex XX to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Chapter III of Annex XX to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

The following is added in point 21aezd (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/1119):

‘, as amended by:

— 32020 D 1714 : Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2020/1714 of 16 November 2020 ( OJ L 384, 17.11.2020, p. 9 ).’

The following is added in point 21azc (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2020/1339):

‘, as amended by:

— 32020 D 1714 : Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2020/1714 of 16 November 2020 ( OJ L 384, 17.11.2020, p. 9 ).’

Article 2

The text of Implementing Decision (EU) 2020/1714 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 12 June 2021, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made ( *1 ) .

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
