DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 313/2021

amending Annex XX (Environment) to the EEA Agreement [2024/520]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/488 of 22 March 2021 amending Implementing Decisions (EU) 2020/174 and (EU) 2020/1167 as regards the use of the approved innovative technologies in certain passenger cars and in light commercial vehicles capable of running on liquefied petroleum gas, compressed natural gas and E85 ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2) Annex XX to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Chapter III of Annex XX to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

The following is added in point 21aza (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2020/174):

‘, as amended by:

— 32021 D 0488 : Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/488 of 22 March 2021 ( OJ L 100, 23.3.2021, p. 15 ).’

The following is added in point 21azd (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2020/1167):

‘, as amended by:

— 32021 D 0488 : Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/488 of 22 March 2021 ( OJ L 100, 23.3.2021, p. 15 ).’

Article 2

The text of Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/488 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 30 October 2021, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made ( *1 ) .

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
