COMMISSION DECISION (EU) 2022/494

confirming the participation of Ireland in Regulation (EU) 2021/693 of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing the Justice Programme
THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION,
Having regard to Protocol No 21 on the position of the United Kingdom and Ireland in respect of the area of freedom, security and justice, annexed to the Treaty on European Union and to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, and in particular Article 4 thereof,
Having regard to the notification by Ireland of its wish to accept and be bound by Regulation (EU) 2021/693 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 28 April 2021 establishing the Justice Programme and repealing Regulation (EU) No 1382/2013 (1),
Whereas:
(1) By letter of 22 November 2021 Ireland notified its wish to accept and be bound by Regulation (EU) 2021/693.
(2) There are no conditions attached to the participation of Ireland in Regulation (EU) 2021/693.
(3) In accordance with the procedure provided for in Article 331(1) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, the participation of Ireland in Regulation (EU) 2021/693 should therefore be confirmed,
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
Article 1
The participation of the Ireland in Regulation (EU) 2021/693 is confirmed.
Article 2
This Decision shall enter into force on the day following that of its publication in the
Official Journal of the European Union
