COUNCIL DECISION

appointing a member of the European Statistical Governance Advisory Board

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,

Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,

Having regard to Decision No 235/2008/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 March 2008 establishing the European Statistical Governance Advisory Board (1), and in particular Article 3(4) thereof,

Having regard to the opinion of the European Commission,

Whereas:

(1) By its decision of 19 December 2019 (2), the Council appointed Mr Priit POTISEPP as a member of the European Statistical Governance Advisory Board (the Board) for a term of office of three years starting on 23 December 2019.

(2) The term of office of Mr Priit POTISEPP expired on 22 December 2022.

(3) According to Article 3(4) of Decision No 235/2008/EC, the term of office of the members of the Board can be renewed once.

(4) In order to ensure administrative continuity and to follow on seamlessly from his first term of office, the term of office of Mr Priit POTISEPP should be renewed without interruption and he should be appointed for a second term of office with effect from 23 December 2022. This Decision should therefore enter into force as a matter of urgency,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Mr Priit POTISEPP is hereby appointed as a member representing the Council in the European Statistical Governance Advisory Board for a second term of office of three years from 23 December 2022.

Article 2

This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its publication in the

Official Journal of the European Union

.

It shall apply from 23 December 2022.
