DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 164/2022

amending Protocol 31 to the EEA Agreement, on cooperation in specific fields outside the four freedoms [2022/1608]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (‘the EEA Agreement’), and in particular Articles 86 and 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1)

It is appropriate to extend the cooperation of the Contracting Parties to the EEA Agreement to Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/268 of 28 October 2020 amending Annex IV to Regulation (EU) 2018/841 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the forest reference levels to be applied by the Member States for the period 2021-2025 ( 1 ) .

Protocol 31 to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Article 3(8)(a) of Protocol 31 to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

(1)

the following is added in the first indent (Regulation (EU) 2018/841 of the European Parliament and of the Council):

‘, as amended by:

—

32021 R 0268 : Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/268 of 28 October 2020 ( OJ L 60, 22.2.2021, p. 21 ).’;

(2)

adaptation (viii) in the first indent is renumbered as adaptation (ix);

(3)

the following adaptation is inserted after adaptation (vii):

‘(viii)

The following shall be added to the table of section C of Annex IV:

“Iceland -30 405

Norway -26 085 000”’.

Article 2

The text of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/268 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 30 April 2022, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made ( * ) .

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
