    DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 196/2022

    of 10 June 2022

    amending Annex XV (State aid) to the EEA Agreement [2022/1896]

    THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
    Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (‘the EEA Agreement’), and in particular Article 98 thereof,
    Whereas:
    (1)
    Commission Regulation (EU) 2021/1237 of 23 July 2021 amending Regulation (EU) No 651/2014 declaring certain categories of aid compatible with the internal market in application of Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty  ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.
    (2)
    Annex XV to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,
    HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

    Article 1

    Point 1j (Commission Regulation (EU) No 651/2014) of Annex XV to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:
    1.
    The following indent is added:
    ‘—
    32021 R 1237 : Commission Regulation (EU) 2021/1237 of 23 July 2021 ( OJ L 270, 29.7.2021, p. 39 ).’
    2.
    Adaptations (a) to (n) are renumbered (b) to (o), respectively.
    3.
    The following adaptation is inserted before adaptation (b):
    ‘(a)
    The term “Article 106(2) of the Treaty” shall read “Article 59(2) of the EEA Agreement”;’

    Article 2

    The text of Regulation (EU) 2021/1237 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

    Article 3

    This Decision shall enter into force on 11 June 2022, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made  ( * ) .

    Article 4

    This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
